# Card top ups: credited by address, checked against the issuer

The money behind your cards comes from your own wallet and from nowhere else.

## How it works

- **Only stablecoins in.** The card balance takes USDT or USDC sent from a wallet, and nothing else: no card and no bank transfer into it.
- **Credited by the address.** Each top up gets a deposit address that is yours while it is open. More, less, the other coin or two transfers are each credited, minus the fee said up front.
- **The issuer checked.** What the issuer says each card spent is checked against what you allocated, so a stray charge shows up the same day. Refunds land in the books on their own.
- **An agent's card.** Money loaded on an agent's card counts as its position's spend when it lands, and taking it back returns it to that period's budget.

## Questions

**Can we fund the cards from the bank?** No. This balance takes only USDT or USDC, sent from a wallet. There is no card or bank transfer into it.

**What about coins sent after a top up closed?** They are still credited, as long as the address has not moved on to someone else. A transfer dated before you got the address is never credited to you.
