# Wallets and exchanges: in the same list as the bank

URL: https://www.orla.finance/en/product/crypto/wallets
Markdown twin of that page. Append `.md` to any Orla page URL to get one.

Orla reads what they hold and never keeps a key in the clear. A key that could trade or withdraw is refused.

## How it works

- **Exchanges by read-only key.** Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX and Bybit connect with a read-only key; one that can trade or withdraw is refused. Hyperliquid needs only its address.
- **Wallets by address.** BTC, EVM, TRON and Solana, watched by address, imported, or created in Orla with a seed shown once and encrypted in your browser. An EVM wallet names the network its books follow.
- **Proven, then trusted.** Sign a short challenge and the wallet earns Verified. A transfer from a verified wallet can be matched for any amount, from an unverified one never.
- **A Safe reads itself.** An address that is a Safe shows its owners and threshold, read from the chain, with nothing typed in.

## Questions

**Does Orla hold our keys?** Not in the clear. Exchanges connect with a read-only key. A wallet made in Orla is encrypted in your browser, and Orla keeps only a locked key file.

**Is the balance right now?** Each balance is reconciled against the exchange or the chain. The pairs on the home board refresh about once an hour, at the rate Orla values your money at.
