# Save toward it together: or let anyone chip in

A family goal knows its sum, its date and the pace it needs. Open it as a collection, and anyone with the link can chip in.

## How it works

- **A sum, a date, an honest pace.** Set the target, its currency and a deadline if there is one. The goal says what it needs a month against the current pace and the day it closes, or says plainly that at this pace it never closes.
- **Counted the way you save.** Link a savings account and the goal reads its balance. Or mark deposits on any account, a chore reward or a salary sweep among them, and a marked expense lowers it.
- **Open it as a collection.** Open collection gives the goal a public page with its name, what came in against the target and amounts sized to what is left. Anyone with the link chips in, and every paid contribution moves the goal by itself.
- **Steer it, then close it.** Switch the account the collection pays into at any time, and the link stays the same. Close collection takes the page down and cancels the links nobody paid, and a reached goal stops taking money.

## Questions

**Who sees who gave what?** You do, on the goal's list of contributors, with the name each person chose to leave. The public page shows the total and the bar, the card a chat draws from the link adds how many chipped in, and neither shows a name.

**Can a company open a collection?** No. Goals and collections live in personal and family spaces, where a child keeps their own piggy banks too. A company asks for money with pay links and invoices.
