# Who signs: and what leaves when

One queue for signatures, one rule above it. Inside the mandate and after the pilot, a known payee in budget goes by itself from an account that pays by itself; the rest waits for a person.

## How it works

- **One queue, one rule.** A threshold and the number of signatures it takes sit above the queue. Whoever prepared a payment never signs it.
- **Batches of two hundred.** Typed or from a CSV with a preview, a duplicate warning and a template for next month. The rule reads the total, so slicing a batch changes nothing.
- **By itself inside the mandate.** After the pilot, a known payee inside a position's budget goes on its day. A new payee, new details or a sum past the budget waits for a person.
- **A line when it looks odd.** Far above what a payee is usually paid, a large first payment, or the same sum twice in a week. The line explains and never blocks.

## Questions

**Can the assistant sign a payment?** No. The assistant and the AP clerk can put a payment in the queue. A person signs, and nobody signs for them.

**Can a signed payment still change?** Yes. A payment can be amended after approval, up to the moment the money leaves.
