# What you earned: against what you billed

It counts the work your contracts say is done against what you invoiced. The books stay cash, and no other figure moves.

## How it works

- **Read from the contracts.** A monthly or yearly fee is earned in a straight line, the running period by the share of its days. A milestone is earned the day it is invoiced, and a rate card earns nothing.
- **Billed beside it.** Sent, partly paid and paid invoices under each contract. Drafts, voided documents and quotes never count.
- **Both gaps named.** Billed above earned is money taken for work still to come. Earned above billed is work done that nothing has invoiced yet, listed row by row in Contracts.
- **Honest about the rest.** The report says how many invoices no contract speaks for. Asked for a past day, it is rebuilt as it stood, at that day's rate.

## Questions

**Does this change our books?** No. Nothing is written to the ledger: the books stay cash, no other report moves, and the two ways of counting are free to disagree.

**Which plan has it?** Pro and above. On a lower plan the report says which plan it belongs to, with a way to upgrade.
