#### You make the app, in your own admin, with one scope

- What to create: Two fields to paste: a custom app with the payouts read scope, its shpat_ token and your .myshopify.com address.
- Why a custom app: A public app means their review queue and a permission dialog written by us; a custom app is yours, scoped to your shop, revoked by you in the same screen it was made in.
- The shop address is checked: Not just stored: the whole domain must be a real .myshopify.com one, so nothing smuggled into that field can send a request carrying your token anywhere else at all.
- Where the token lives: Encrypted at rest once it is accepted, and never returned by our API again.

#### Every movement, from the same ledger Shopify pays you from

One list on their side, so nothing is reconciled on ours.

- Sales roll up by day, with Shopify Payments fees as their own figure rather than buried in the total.
- Refunds subtract from the day they belong to.
- What still sits on the platform becomes an account, so a payout moves between two accounts you own.
- A shop without Shopify Payments syncs empty, not broken, and the connection stays healthy.

Platforms connect on the paid plans; the free plan keeps the book.
