Autonomy and the pilot
nothing acts alone on day one
Every kind of action starts at your press. Orla prepares it, you press, and it counts how often you changed nothing. After 30 days, 20 decisions and 95% pressed as they came, you read the report and decide. Two mistakes send it back.
Kind by kind
Autonomy is earned per kind of action
not for the whole company at once

- One kind at a time
- Paying hosting bills can go by itself while contractor payouts are still in their pilot, and invoices still wait for your press.
- Always a person
- A new payee, bank details that changed and anything that looks wrong go to a person, at every step of the ladder.
The measure
Every decision is counted
and only one of them counts in its favour
- As it came19Pressed with nothing changed
- Corrected1Amount, date, account or rail
- Declined0You said no
- By hand0Done past the proposal
Code checks every payment against the mandate. The model reads the bills and explains each proposal in words. It never decides. Already counted today for Orla's own agents: each shows the share of its proposals accepted as proposed, week by week.
The gate
Three numbers, then your decision
nothing turns on by itself

- Days

- As it came
- 95%
- 30 days, 20 decisions, 95%
- A pilot ends when a month has passed and twenty decisions are in, nineteen of them pressed as they came. A rare kind waits for its twenty.
- You let it go
- The report lands with the position's owner. Only a press there turns the kind on, inside the mandate and its limits.
- Your agents start by watching
- A connected agent starts in observation: what it writes waits as a proposal until its owner lets it work on its own. A freeze takes effect on its next call.
Going back
Two mistakes in a month
and it is back at your press
- What counts as a mistake
- A payment undone or corrected after it left, an exception the supervisor raised, or money that came back.
- What happens then
- The kind goes back to your press, a new pilot starts, and the owner gets a message saying why.
- A week idle is a step back
- An agent that changes nothing for seven days goes back to observing, and one press lets it work again.
On autopilot
What goes by itself
and what still waits for you
Goes by itself
- A bill or a payout inside its budget in the mandate
- From Revolut Business, Airwallex, PayPal or the account inside Orla
- An agent's card or API spend inside its cap
Waits for you
- A new payee, and bank details that changed
- Anything past a budget or a limit
- Every payment from Mercury, Slash, a Safe or a wallet you sign
The brakes above both
- $2,000 a payment and $10,000 a day until you change them
- Loosening a limit waits 24 to 72 hours
- One pause stops every payment at once
Questions
About the pilot
the short answers
Can I skip the pilot?
No. A kind of action goes by itself only after its pilot, and only when its owner lets it go. That holds for payments and for invoices.
What if a kind is rare?
It waits for its twenty decisions, however long that takes. A month alone is not enough.
Does the pilot stop when autonomy is on?
No. The measure goes on. Two mistakes in thirty days send the kind back to your press and start a new pilot.
Does any of this loosen the brakes?
No. The mandate's budgets, the limits of $2,000 a payment and $10,000 a day until you change them, and the signing rules hold at every step.
How do I see what went by itself?
A control report each month, frozen the day after it ends: what machines decided alone, what people signed, and what was flagged.
